The Private Financial Aid Landscape is Changing 

With the phase-out of Graduate PLUS Loans coming soon, higher education finance is entering a time of major change. The industry will experience a spike in demand for six-figure loans and will require the infrastructure to support and manage these larger amounts. 

The industry was not designed to support six-figure loans, but ELM Resources is leading the evolution, working closely with NCHER (National Council of Higher Education Resources) and key lending partners to ensure a smooth, practical transition through ELMOne. 

This isn’t just a technical upgrade but a foundational step toward a standardized framework for private student loans. With ELM at the forefront, six-digit loan support will strengthen data integrity, reduce reconciliation errors, and improve coordination between campuses and lenders. 

Setting the Standard 

The first phase of the six-digit loan initiative focuses on building and testing the core data and system interfaces that enable a six-digit loan to transact between the lender and ELM, and displaying in ELMOne. ELM has established the industry support to move forward with this stage of the plan. 

Once complete, ahead of next year’s peak season, ELM Resources' campuses will be able to manage, track, and reconcile six-digit loans quickly and accurately directly in ELMOne.
