Frequently Asked Questions

    Member FAQ's

    • ELMNet

      • Answer: In most cases, sending a new file from your system should update the status and demographics properly. If that is not possible, the Loan Provider should instruct users with update access to log in and manually change the information.

      • Answer: There are various reasons that this might happen. Most often, the record was sent in a file from ELM but has rejected on the loan provider system for one reason or another. Keep in mind, manually updating a loan with a new status or alternative loan code will not generate a file to you. If you need ELM to re-send a record please send an email to NSC@elmresources.com with the Unique ID and a request to "refresh and re-extract" the loan. If the loan needs to have the guarantor code or alternative loan corrected prior to resending please include that as well.

      • Answer: This information can be found in the Technical Updates for the school or NDN Notifications.

        • ELM stores the last 10 NDN Notifications on our website. (Refer to short-cut link above)

        • ELM stores all Technical Updates for a school on our website. (Refer to short-cut link above)

      • Answer: Contact the National Service Center, at NSC@elmresources.com to request addition to our email distribution list. Please indicate if you would like to receive both the Technical Update and the NDN Notification (snooze and special disbursement day requests).

      • Answer: ELM has two reports which can be automatically delivered to your mailbox on a daily basis.

        • The R61 report will list all AppSend files that were sent to your mailbox the previous day.

        • The R67 report will list all ChangeSend files that were sent to your mailbox the previous day.

Send an email to NSC@elmresources.com to request these reports.

      • Answer: ELM is set to time out after 20 minutes of inactivity. If you find that it is timing out quicker than that, adding elmproduction.com as a Trusted Site may help. To add ELM as a trusted site, use the following steps if you are in Internet Explorer user.

        • Close your browser and re-open it, then go to the ELM login screen.

        • Go to the Tools dropdown menu (in your IE tool bar), then choose Internet Options

        • Select the tab called Security

        • Under "Select a zone to view or change security settings", click the green checkmark labeled Trusted Sites.

        • Once you click that, you will see a button become available called Sites - click that.

        • Under "Add this website to the zone" you should see elmproduction.com - click Add

        • You can now click Close and then Okay.

        • This should resolve the timeout issue.

      • Answer: ELM recommends that you clear your cache and your cookies, close your browser and try again.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, contact the National Service Center at 866-524-8198 and use Option 1.

      • Answer: A user must change their password every 90 days. If you do not, your account will become inactive for an additional 30 days before your account being deleted.

Remember, you can change your password without waiting for it to expire by going to Administration on the Function Menu. This is a good idea if you are going to be out of the office and don't want to rick your password expiring.

If your password is deactivated, your Security contact at the school can reset it for you. Also, you can contact the National Service Center by calling 866-524-8198 and use Option 1.

    • ELMSelect

      • Answer: First complete the form that gives ELM all the details regarding your new product. You can find the form by clicking here.

Second, obtain an email authorization from the school to add the program to their ELMSelect page

Finally, send both the email authorization and the form to NSC@elmresources.com with a request to add the loan program to our system.

      • Answer: First, obtain an email authorization from the school to add the program to their ELMSelect page.

Second, provide the lender, ELMSelect product code information along with the school's email authorization to NSC@elmresources.com with a request to add the loan program to the school's page.

      • Answer: First complete the form that gives ELM all the details regarding your product. You can find the form by clicking here. (Please complete a separate form for each lender/program code combination.)

Send the form (or logo) to NSC@elmresources.com with a request to update all pages that list the loan program on ELMSelect.

      • Answer: For IE follow these steps:
